This rapid transformation, however, has brought significant urban challenges, placing the neighbourhood at the heart of the global effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11)—making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.
Despite challenges like congestion, pollution, and flooding, Kodambakkam is making strides toward SDG 11 by implementing stormwater drain revamp, smart city upgrades, green drives, and improved waste/housing management to become a safe, resilient, and sustainable urban neighborhood.
